When Everly turned one, I wanted to find a soft sugar cookie recipe and ultimately found this one. I ended up making the same ones for Charlie and Audrey's first birthday parties, too! These work really well as little favors to hand out at the end of the party. I had a number one cookie cutter, so that made these fun! A little icing on top and they are sooo good.
Here is my version of the recipe (See the original recipe here):
My Favorite Soft Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
3 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Step 2: Beat in eggs + vanilla
Step 3: Stir in flour, baking powder and salt
Step 4: Put dough in a covered container and put in freezer for 30 minutes or refrigerator for 1 hour
Step 5: Preheat oven to 400
Step 6: Roll out the dough on lightly floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick
Step 7: Cut into shapes
Step 8: Cover cookie sheets with parchment paper
Step 9: Place cookies on cookie sheets
Step 10: Bake for 6-8 minutes and wait to cool before decorating
For the record, you can just make these on regular, normal, boring days, too. :) Yum Yum Yum!
